Course Descriptions

Mini-Course Bundle - Access to four asynchronous mini-courses, each roughly 2.5 hours in length. This is the best value, offering ten hours of professional development for up to 900 district staff. Purchase includes access to the following courses: Inclusion 101, Curriculum Adaptations, Building Student Independence and Fading Prompts, and Supporting Students with Challenging Behaviors. ($2,000 less than booking courses separately!)

Foundations of Special Education - This 2.5 hour mini-course provides an introduction to inclusive and special education, framing the inclusion of students with disabilities within an equity context. Strategies for implementation, such as differentiated instruction and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) are reviewed.

Curriculum Adaptations - The differences between accommodations and modifications are discussed in this 2.5 hour mini-course. Examples of effective adaptations are provided and practical strategies for implementation are offered.

Building Student Independence and Fading Prompts - This 2.5 hour mini-course provides strategies for increasing student independence through student agency and fading prompts. The prompt hierarchy is reviewed and plans to begin fading supports are introduced.

Supporting Students with Challenging Behaviors - 2.5 hours in length, this mini-course offers an introduction to foundational concepts of behavior, including function. Operating under the belief that all behavior is communication, participants learn to understand WHY a student may be exhibiting challenging behavior and how to address it effectively.
